The preseason takes its toll on the Redskins starting running back.
Matt Jones was projected to start the season as the Washington Redskins starting running back, in his second season as a pro.
Jones showed promise last year as a rookie but has plenty of room to grow, which is why Head Coach Jay Gruden decided to play him in Washington’s second preseason game.
Unfortunately that decision turned out to be quite costly for the Skins’ as Jones took a nasty hit and dislocated his shoulder. He is now out for the rest of the preseason, with a question mark around his availability for the Redskins home opener on Monday, September 12th, for Monday Night Football.
