Record Set for Most Missed PAT’s
In an attempt to make field goals harder the NFL moved the field goal attempt yardage back years ago. Well, the kickers around the league set a record by missing a total of 12 PAT’s this past weekend. The previous record was 10 that was set in 1985 on much shorter distance PAT’s.
The 12 misses bring the two week total to 18 as place kickers missed 6 times in week 10. The rule change since being implemented has dropped the rate of successful PAT’s 5 percent, and has also made teams want to go for two more often.
With weather conditions changing as winter sets in it will be interesting to watch what coaches decide to do when it comes to kicking or going for two.
