Why the Redskins Don’t Need Dalvin Cook
There have been mock drafts showing that the Redskins will select Florida State running back Dalvin Cook. If the Redskins get a lot on the defensive side of the ball during free agency I wouldn’t care if they went offense in the first round of the draft, but selecting Cook would be a mistake.
While Cook is an explosive runner, and would be an upgrade over Kelley the baggage he would bring with him isn’t what we need. Cook has been charged 3 different times for robbery, firing and possessing a weapon, and misdemeanor battery.
He was found not guilty on one of those charges and the others were dropped, but using a first round pick on a player like that isn’t worth it. Hopefully, McCloughan drafts a defensive stud because we all know our defense needs all the help it can get.
