14 Gold Medals for U.S.
The United States and China are leading the pack in gold medals up to August 11, in Rio. The U.S. has 14 gold, 12 Silver, and ten bronze medals, while China has eleven, eight, and ten respectively. America has dominated swimming and women’s gymnastics with ease. Kayla Harrison of the U.S. also picked up a gold for judo, which she also won back in 2012 at the London games. So far China has won gold in weightlifting, diving, and table tennis. Japan, Australia, and South Korea round out the top five gold medal leaders less than a week into the games.
