Capitals Lose in Shootout in Opener to Penguins
The Capitals took the lead 59 seconds in the game with a breakaway goal. The Penguins would score the next two before the Caps tied it up in the 3rd.
The game went into overtime, but no one could finish the game. When the shootout rolled around they were tied after 3 rounds. The Penguins were able to score in the 4th round, which left it to Alex Ovechkin to keep it going. Ovechkin tried to score with his backhand, but failed.
The Caps for the most part played well, but it was more of the same from last year’s playoff losses to the Pens. A close hard fault hockey game which I guess is all we can ask for considering the fact the Penguins did win the cup last year.
