Caps Lose Second Straight
The Capitals faced a hard task traveling from Detroit to New York and playing back to back games. With Holtby resting Grubauer who has been great this year got the start for the Caps. Alex Ovechkin scored his 27th goal of the season, but that would be the only goal the team would score in the 2-1 loss.
The Rangers goals came from McDonagh and Zuccarello. Lundqvist also played well stopping 29 shots. His first half of the season was rather poor, but he has now won 9 of his last 12 starts.
The Rangers are now winners of 7 of their last 8 games. Even with the last two losses the Caps remain the number one team in the east by 5 points, and the number one team in the whole league but by only 1 point. Hopefully, the can regain their momentum when they head to Philly Wednesday.
