The Super Bowl Goes GAGA
After a couple of weeks of speculation, reports, and denials from the NFL, it turned out that rumors are true: Lady Gaga will indeed play the Super Bowl halftime show in February. The singer herself made it official on her twitter account Thursday night.
This will be Gaga’s second consecutive appearance at the big game following her rousing rendition of the national anthem prior to the Broncos’ win over the Panthers in Super Bowl 50. This past February, the Mother Monster blew viewers away when she sang the song live. As an added bonus, the singer admitted that performing at the Super Bowl was a “dream come true”.
In a press release, the NFL called Gaga “a one-of-a-kind artist and performer” and plugged an appearance she will be making on this Sunday’s edition of “Fox NFL Sunday” in which she will join co-hosts Curt Menefee and Michael Strahan “to offer a glimpse into what she has in store for this historic halftime show.” Fox will be broadcasting Super Bowl LI on February 5, 2017. It will take place in Houston.
